We work hard behind and in front of the scenes to bring an exciting, unique and fresh range of costumes for you to choose from. We have lots of fun thinking up ways to recreate the look you ask for, but also alot of time just washing, ironing, repairing and refreshing the current collection.

Tracey Priest - owner

Tracey is a new face on the Costume Hire scene, taking over the reigns at Jesters in December 2008.  Tracey is an accomplished sewer with an eye for detail and a passion for creating gorgeous costumes.  The past 15 years has seen Tracey, Eastbourne mother of 3, in her corporate attire rather than a costume, but she is no stranger to retail.  Raised in her mother’s fashion shops in Christchurch, she feels that coming back to retail has given her a sense of coming home.  Being able to spend time creating and designing great looks is a dream come true.

Kay

Kay is the face of experience having worked in the industry for over 10 years she brings a wonderful depth of knowledge and creativity, with a huge attention to detail.  It’s the little accessories that complete a costume and create the unique look for the customer.  Kay has had a huge input into building up this capability over the years, and the vast range of accessories for character detailing.  Our customers regularly win “Best Costume” at parties and events.  Kay has been key to this success.

Emma

Currently doing a bachelor degree in fashion design at Massey.  Emma brings a fresh young perspective to the collection frequently creating her own interpretation of classic looks and educating the rest of us about what is current and popular with the younger customers.

Yoka

Works hard behind the scenes to ensure that all our costumes are beautifully turned out, clean and in great condition.  Busy in the laundry and behind a sewing machine, Yoka is an experienced seamstress and we couldn’t run without her hard work and sewing experience.
